What time is it? Watches and horology

My grandad’s watch was unearthed at the weekend having spent 25 years in a shoebox. Soon to be serviced and on my wrist, I even kinda like the fixoflex bracelet! Serious pipe smoke patina.

I’ve been enjoying the heatwave with an appropriate strap (one of the most comfortable straps I’ve ever had if not the most comfortable… Nick Mankey hook strap).

Those straps look good. I also like that you don't get a layer of strap under the watch head itself.

100%, I need to get one for my Sinn U1 as it's a bit too thick on the standard nato. The problem is the 2-3 month wait...

I recently got one of these Pebro waxed calfskin straps (except in grey) and I quite like it.

I also think this Rios strap is good for the money. Very soft, relatively thin, good for vintage/dressier watches.

Two Stitch straps start at about £50 I think. They tend to be a bit sturdier and are nicely made.

I would also add Colareb to that list, great value for money.

Imo the quartz movement is perfect for a travel watch but yes GS should make some spring drive watches in smaller sized cases

I tried this on yesterday and quite liked it. 39mm is a great size and i like how the small dials are a bit blueish.

Took the fixed to work, but road works forced me onto the dirt for a kilometre or so.
Does that make me a gravel rider?
