Been working for the last year or so on Screen Printing techniques that marry in with gilding.
It’s how a lot of gilding work used to be done but the two mediums seem to have separated in most peoples minds
Anyway, I made this last week. It is 23ct gold water gilded with a Boston finish. CMYK screen print with airbrushed details and some hand painted pearlescent elements. I made three that are pretty much exactly the same… the joy of Screen Printing I guess.
The design is an old cigar box that I scanned, redrew and made print ready.
