Got the Marin all built up in time for Grinduro. It was quite a labour of love to figure out all the bits that worked well together but got there in the end. I bought a new brand-x inline seatpost in black at the last minute because the second hand one I bought turned up bent! I commuted on it for about 2 weeks to test it out, shifting is so light and brakes are great. Grinduro was pretty tough though, really long climbs with over 20% gradients on loose terrain, as well as wind and rain for most of the day. Was good fun though and lots of good people to chat to.
Did 1500ft climbing on the friday and another 7000ft on the saturday in a measly 40 miles or so, as well as 10 hours of driving and 2 nights in a tent. Royally f**ked my lower back so Im struggling to ride much at the moment outside of commuting. I don't think I'm going to be riding it any time soon and so tentatively putting it up for sale and free some space up in the flat.
