  • one of these...

  • Giulietta Sprint

Yellow headlights, bumper delete and wire wheels turn these into one of the sexiest cars.

Surely you'd have more fun driving around the wife and kids in that than occasionally / maybe racing the B

  • I can’t believe you are even thinking about it. GET THE ALFA.

  • I would be selling selling my soul let alone another car.

  • Whilst I calm down from the sight of the pictures above. Just helped daughter to buy this.
500 twin air. Bit noisy , but fucking goes !! It’s a bit like Abarth lite , incredible fun.

  • He is proposing a swap for his 1960 Giulietta Sprint (plus a bit of cash).

    swap!

  • if the b was complete, and i had the chance to use it, then it would be a no brainer, for sure...

no yellow lights and wire wheels, tho

  • seriously just do it, and then I'll see you at National Alfa day.

    look where i started!

  • Your main problem there is that it’s not the right way up.

    Don’t lean!

  • it will be interesting to see what has more filler

  • Tough dilemma. I am simultaneously jealous and not jealous.

    bias alert!
My only thought is - how easy it to to anything for the Alpha? Parts can be a hugely limiting issue with old cars, even 2000s cars are hard to find parts for these days. Part of the reason why I sold my '68 Olds was due to part availability. It was just so, so expensive to get anything for it. Part of the reason was due to that year model being a weird one year only re-design for GM. 62-67 models were pretty much the same, 69-75 models were all about the same. The 68 was unique and that just made everything so expensive.

So as long as you have considered all of that, and you are certain you can get parts, within reason, then that should inform your thinking. Otherwise we'll see it in future RetroPower episodes. :)

  • the main issue will be size, tbh. i get in a 105 fine, but these have a fair bit less headroom. i am going to try one tomorrow at a dealer.

parts aren't too bad. well, the moving bits, anyway.

  • Roof bubble ?
Or do what Alfaholics did to Gordon Murrays Zagato and lower the floor?
Where theres a will theres a way. Me I would cut my feet off if I had to !

  • How much filler was in that restored shell ;)

Is the B worth that much?

  • Bearing or floating on oil turbo spindle? Even tho 22k miles seems like a short time for a turbo.

Is there something causing the oil to be drawn in to the inlet?

  • heehee. so dangerous dude. I was actually looking at that load runner the other day.

but I can't help you with the 12. I never liked the way the boot dropped off on these. gave me the heebiejeebies when I was young and @clintsmoker's dad had one. before he upgraded to a R16.

but the little 304 coupe would be a lovely thing to drive around in I reckon.

    Fuck the fabia!

  • Race a B and that’s how it’ll end up. On its side against a tyre wall!

  • Sorry but keep the MG imo.

Alfa is lovely but just too much of a toy imo.

A junior GT on the other hand...

  • Yep I am not a fan of that Alfa. But if you go for it can you not work at least one race into the deal?

  • That’s not a bad idea, Jonny

  • Or maybe get some to view the alfa objectivly and then have the LFGSS massive appear at yours to do child care while you do the B or supervise others.

Note aunts and uncles must spoil the small ones ;)

  • I coming/going to the UK for 2 weeks next week - 900GBP for 12 days for a Ford Focus. Was probably <300GBP last time in early 2019.

  • Surprised it’s that cheap tbh. We got stung for nearly a thousand euros for a hatchback for five days in Ireland a month or two back.

  • Our neighbours have got a top-spec Yeti, taunting me every day. NEEEEEED.
