• I can understand the marketing value of having a couple of nice pieces in the window but you'd think that if you actually had to move that kind of stock there would be better channels.

    Unless the idea is to sell it with exorbitantly expensive financing to someone that can't really afford it so that you get to turn it a few more times?

    EDIT: just had a look at Ramsdens and you can buy an £8.5k Explorer with 20% down and £170 / month for 4 years at 9.9% APR, so maybe that's the point.

  • They have an internet site and I think are a kind of pawn shop chain. I won't post a link but it's easily googlable. All 3 watches are on their website.

    I'm in York and we have a lot of tourism and a very high proportion of seemingly very well off Chinese students so maybe there's something in that?

    The thing I found interesting was that all 3 appeared at the same time. I guess could be from the same seller but also a possible indication that people who've held as investment are now selling?
