• Seems I have failed on both counts in my quest for the wanker-deli #cornichon wagon aesthetic.

Gonna keep the bullmoose, might get them widened at some point.

@Qebrus Width & reach very similar to bullmoose, so handling seemed unaffected. Front end felt a bit lighter, but that’s moot once the 1.1 kilos of rack go on.

@ElGonzo Yeh, just better all round with the two-pronged boat anchor.

  • Absolutely love this build.

Picked up a Marin Palisades trail recently so this is heavy on my mood board.

  • Thanks!

Good luck with the Palisades Trail, will keep an eye out for it.

  • Got one of @t0-ster ‘s Barnacle forks, perfect excuse to build another obsolete 26er...

  • Picking up as many Ukrainian-made parts as I can for this new build.

This Lazarus seatpost has shades of old skool Syncros energy...

always loved the RF forged cranks.

  • is that race face crank isis?
christ i used to get through those BB’s weekly, literally killed them in one ride.
praise the lord for giving us hollowtech II.

  • Nope, square taper.

  • that’s saved you a monthly BB subscription..

  • Cute yoke ❤️

  • Quite lithe

  • First tentative ride for a month, after spectacularly mashing my knee.

Only pootled around for a bit with my daughter, but quickly found my legs have withered and my arsecheeks have been annihilated after not touching a saddle for so long.

  • Got the dirt cheap Ebay CK wheelset trued and tubeless mounted by Stayer.

Did a cheeky front QR to thru axle swap by harvesting an axle from a wrecked FB marketplace front wheel.

  • The 15mm axle is a very early type with no seals; the hubshell will probably fill with water on the first wet ride...

  • just a quick question out of curiosity, by removing the screw of the rocker dropouts, wouldn't they be able to rotate around the top rivet/pivot 360° freely? in this case, then the belt is able to be slid on, which would remove the need of split seat stay? or am I missing something?

  • You’d still need to get the belt through the rear triangle; sprocket on the inside, chainring on the outside. There’s no gap without splitting the stay.

  • yes yes I know but the idea would be to remove the two screws of the drive siderocker dropout, then you can rotate it 180° so it wouldn't be attached to the chainstay anymore and you would have space to pass the belt in the rear triangle? or maybe I am thinking wrong?

  • Maybe if the drive side dropout wasn’t a single piece...
