  • Having the kitchen replaced as the same time will make that interesting...

Careful with this! Was definitely a big part of my downfall (and followed by having a baby which was even worse)

  • I'm alright with eating oats/wrap/salad 5x a week! Going to be working on other bits of the house/job hunting at the same time. Should keep me busy enough.

  • I gained a small amount over the last couple of weeks. We had friends over for a long weekend and it was my 50th birthday, so I drank a fair bit of wine and food. Then it was off to my in laws where I was basically too exhausted most days to go for any walks, so considering that, an 800 gram increase isn’t too bad. Back on the regular regime now so I’ll see what that brings.

    19/06/22: 103kg
    22/06/22: 100.2
    28/06/22: 100.0

    16/05 - 111.2kg
    23/05 - 109.5kg
    30/05 - 108.9kg

    04/07 - 106.8kg
    11/07 - 107.8kg
    18/07 - 105.5kg

  • down to 83kg today (from 92 on Jan 1st). This is the first weight loss regime that has ever worked, I am astonished. Credit to this thread and Nutracheck. thanks all, keep going.

  • Post holiday weigh due tomorrow. Did a lot of walking, but was it enough to offset all the bread...

  • I'm still going with the 5:2, since April now and it's getting easier.

Off work since Wednesday and I've done a 5k or decent ride every day since so I'm hoping to be sub-84kg by now.

  • It's quite slow really but I suppose the issue is that I'm not really paying much attention to what I eat on the non-500 calorie days - I'd probably have better results if I just ate better all the time, but I feel like that would be less sustainable.

  • Not losing weight here but doing lots of physio and some minor circuit training hoping to lay the foundations for some decent riding and running for the end of summer/autumn, and hopefully that'll help me shed some kgs. Feeling a bit of renewed motivation so let's see how it goes.
Goal is to lose around 6kg.

  • Started the year on 217.6lbs, currently on 207lbs, slower progress than planned but 200 by EOY feels very doable.

  • Not much happening here.

    19/07/22: 100.5

85.5kg! That extra kilo should come off easily enough, but I'll still count it as a win.

    18/07 - 105.5kg
    25/07 - 105kg

  • Hit 75.8 a month ago and have then had 3 weeks off the bike due to wedding and honeymoon etc. 80.3kg this afternoon, all the way back to where I started the year

  • Been a stressful, bready week.

    20/07 - 85.5
    27/07 - 85.2

  • A bout of minor food poisoning got me to 79ish, down from 93 Jan 3rd.
Had to reintroduce carbs as I needed light and plain food.
My weight is stable just under 80kg, but I definitely feel hungrier when I have more regular carbs in my diet.
Still, feels good to be well passed halfway in the year and my weight remaining stable.

  • Going backwards.
This week I'm a kilo heavier.
    19/06/22: 103kg
    22/06/22: 100.2
    28/06/22: 100.0

    19/07/22: 100.5
    27/07/22: 101.5

I just don't have the energy to do anything at the moment. I went rowing yesterday, which was good, but I need to get back on my bike and start exploring Charente Limousine.

  • Interesting thread!

Im not quite the heaviest ive been but ive grown le boobs and handles. Sitting at around 83kg which is over 13st

I think I have a strange perception of myself though. When I weighed 63kg i thoight i looked exactly the same as i do now. I cycled religiously and even did weights but didnt eat well enough to grow.

In hindsight ppl say I look healthy now. I have muscular shoulders and arms. I was a demolition labourer f0r years but Lockdown blew me up, I got the nickname D-cup when we returned back to work. Its ok, i can roll with it. I eat whetyer im hungry or not though now. Maybe i shpuld cpunt my cals, 1400 to lose weight.

Ive done all the calcs but not really followed them. Ive cut down beer. Maybe 8 tins in a month now. Bread and cereal completely too. Love crisps tho, so french fries will be my cheeky treat.

I lost the most weight while labpuring and dping lots of coke. I havent touched that in over 2 years now. Its crazy how hungry i could be and just get on with it.

    Im wittering.

Hoping to get to a "defined" 70kg or 11st.

  • doing lots of coke

Effective but more expensive than a calorie count app…

When you do a very physical job, eating to hunger is probably fine, but better to detach and get a handle on what hunger means if you’re looking to cut weight.

I started this year around your current weight and am now at a reasonably defined 70kg, probably with about 90% compliance to the plan.

What job do you do now? Still active?

  • Effective but more expensive

0/10, would not recommend. Not that I was doing coke to lose weight but yeah, I did.

I am an Asst Manager in a Tile job, its literally more dull than it sounds.
It has its physical days for sure, there are 2 staff including me, but its sitting on my butt surfing on my phone 45 hours a week. We are a fairly large group but a very quiet shop.

Currently cycling the commute with the odd evening punt, probably about 50miles a week. Im trying to double that too, with a friend. We started the increase a few weeks ago. Havent actualy broken 100miles yet, mainly because he doesn't actually know thats what Im trying to do and doesn't ride as often as me and I've never really gotten into riding alone. You never seem to go as far as you think.

Other than my general health, the current goal is crossing Wales next year.

  • Well had a shock this morning, weighed in at 78kg.

I have never been able to get under 82kg when I've really put the effort in but I've been touring since April and finally found some scales and like I say it was a surprise.

My diet is pastries, ice cream, fizzy drinks and mcdonalds.

Can guarantee it will pile back on when I get home but I am happy at 82kg

  • 9kg in 2 months is great progress!

  • Thanks :-)

I seem to be looking at the process of weight loss with a negative attitude though and struggle to see anything other than 'I'm not where I want to be yet'

Probably not helped by a niggling back pain issue which is limiting how much cycling I'm currently able to do, so being overweight is accompanied by 'I'm lazy and unfit'
