Probably the rear hinge pivot, it’s a wearable part that needs replacing every so often. If your off the bike, give it a push sideways where the rear half folds (just behind the bottom bracket) and see if that moves. If so, that’s where the knocking is. Best to get it fixed asap if it’s that bad, or else risk damage to the main frame
Hi all, been absent forever. After advice from the hive mind if possible.
Had my 3 speed for a couple of years now but really only started properly using it since about Jan for daily commuting.
It's developed a worrying knocking on the back wheel the last 10 rides or so and today is much worse. Tried to look at it over the weekend but I can't replicate it on the work stand. It's only happening when I'm actually on the bike riding, which is making it rather difficult to diagnose.
Looking down while riding this morning I could see/ feel the wheel knocking left/right.
Bearings? Or hub? The wheel doesn't seem out of true on the stand but if I wiggle the wheel left/right out of plane whilst sitting still there is a bit of movement. Having never had issues like this before I'm not sure where to start fixing.
Hopefully something just needs a tighten and it's not that I've destroyed the wheel being a 100kg fatty...
