  • Yea I think the huge gas/energy/petrol hikes will negatively affect sales.

We’re no longer in a lockdown/boredom/gov’t-grants situation and suddenly all those bikes people bought since 2020 are looking very expensive in the garage when the family car costs £200 to fill a tank.

That said I sooner do shit on a bike than in the van.

Personally I’d love to try a T7, but it just looks so damn huge whenever I go to the dealer to look at it.

  • This is in my mind, but not really seeing used 2020 and 2021 prices coming down, looks better to buy new than buy those second hand.
Similar issue with cars, prices are still mad high, reluctant to buy something at inflated used price when during your winter they will come back down to earth.

  • Yea it’s a weird one. Nobody wants to be the first to admit that everyone is skint and that used prices are dropping.

I’ve noticed more and more bikes locally are selling for less extortionate prices. Nowhere near pre-Covid prices, but a drop from peak-Trotters Independent Trading.

As far as new, I believe that the chip shortage still has an effect on stock but now that interest rates are sky-rocketing there’s much fewer purchases.

I could and may well be totally wrong, but the showrooms look pretty full and the staff look pretty bored.

  • High mileage tracers don't seem like bad value. But I know what you mean.
