Thanks Oliver, I thought you might have some good knowledge on this.
I'll be riding the route with them the first time which should make it easier for the more complicated / busy parts.

She's riding a Pashley tricycle which is pretty wide so canal paths are off limits.

I wouldn't recommend the relevant section for a beginner. You get a lot of speeding by other riders, and it's very busy at commuting hours--although I haven't been down there since the first lockdown, and it may well have changed. New riders I've talked to recently found the bridges particularly hairy.
Edit: Yes, and with a tricycle it's definitely not a good idea.

Sorry, for some reason I imagined I'd seen a 'he' in your post. Pronouns corrected.

How to get to deptford wavelengths from SE26?
The river path is what I'll use, but how do you negotiate the big fuck off road (new cross road) between the end of the path and my destination? -
• #107
Use the pedestrian/cycle crossing by Deptford Bridge DLR then there's a bike path that runs past Lewisham College and down to The Birds Nest. Unfortunately the bike path stops at this point (and there's also loads of major building work going on) so the last stretch on Deptford Church Street from the roundabout to Wavelengths is fairly unpleasant.
You could either walk this short section on the pavement or do a loop of Reginald Road / Deptford High Street / Giffin St to bypass it. The market is on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, if you're travelling in the morning or afternoon on these days you'll need to walk the section on the High St.

Hey,
A new London-landed pal of mine and myself would like to ride from Tufnell park (where he lives) to Box Hill and back.
Any komoot/ride with GPS suggestion?I did this but absolutely no idea if this works with road baikkks.

Why?

he needs to go through richmond park, bit further west, and approach box hill from the bottom (westhumble side). returning on the east side is good

I don't go that way an awful lot but I would definitely avoid riding near the A3.
I'd probably add a little extra distance and cut down to Kingston and go via Esher. You could stop there at the Giro cafe.
The little section near Denbies before box hill is a shared use path but with lovely views of the vineyard, not to be missed imo. Also riding through battersea is a bit grim, I would go back through Chelsea personallyIts a bit longer tho soz

You could probably chop off the bit from Chobham and go straight to Box hill though, avoiding the crocknorth climb but it's a nice climb if you're up for the extra distance

Thanks again @platypus.
We enjoyed the route and was quite a nice experience except:- I did wave to 30 cyclists before realizing that most of it did not even arsed to reply then I stopped… that was quite a shock compared Birmingham (normally we are quite friendly there)
- We meet a 10-12 cyclists on Esher. Their cycling Jersey says Forge. No hellos, overtook us before a descent without says “passing you on the right” or whatsoever and the last 2 literally overtake by 5 cm from my mate shoulder. I have smelled a bit of “who the fuck u two with mudguards bikes”…
- the way back (around 1 PM) in London traffic London was awful
But thanks though!

totally normal, Home Counties vibe... no matter how many continental holidays they take, they won't change :)
Why not go along the canal? Personally I'm not a huge fan as you have to go pretty slowly but it's a good beginner route.
