  • Yeah it was fine. Although I think the big problem was for riders was finding a security guard who blocked it which then probably added 100km onto their journey

  • We had this discussion recently as I was heading to the area and asked about borders. @dau was turned back from an unofficial crossing, possibly the one you are referring to.

Apparently it is possible to get permission, the organisers of TransBalkans got permission for all their riders to cross an even more remote crossing in the same area, however I emailed a few places and got no response.

We ended up using the Hum crossing which was fine, but as Skinny said, it's a poor road leading to it.

  • No, Berlin isn't really Germany.
Interesting that you felt so safe cycling here.
I guess it's better here than in other places because loads of people on bicycles.

  • What are we dot watching via this year? Trackleaders doesn’t have it. I’m out the loop and have forgotten the various sites I used to frequent.

  • Cheers, they seem to have a little window to ‘follow my challenge’ which is doing the tracking.

  • Waiting for dinner now...

If its still close at the front the ferry could make a difference. Wrong decision could cost hours. Its really hard to work it out. I built a model that took me about a day, and have a card saying what ferry is best when I reach x Junction. Trying to work it out on the fly would be very hard.

  • Just an episode of one of my first commute to work in Berlin.
Traffic light , went green, car in front of me stopping despite the intermittent light point on its right, I stop because I was scared of passing thorough, a mom with a cargobike behind me screaming to speed up coz I have right to pass straight.

I was absolutely and positively shocked 😀

  • Yes, I looked into it too. I don't think the one that some people took in 2016 is legal now, and probably wasn't then.

  • that is an awesome update from Strasser. love to see someone actually smiling while they do this.

  • 'Kilometerlanges Klopapier'

  • Is Pawel skipping CP3?

  • Do we know what happened to Robin Gemperle? Looks like he was left behind by UB and AB

  • Ulrichs route down Croatia seemed a lot more direct and running faster with Adam spending time wiggling around further north in Bosnia

  • Saddle sores were giving him trouble, last I heard. Could also just be that he couldn't sustain his early pace

  • I'm not sure it's possible to conclude that, it seems Adam stopped for 5h or so.

The lack of raceflow chart is really hampering understanding things.

  • If you click the analytics button and scroll down lots there's a really bad race flow chart (much harder to use than trackleaders)

  • Robin just posted some stories but the only word I could undestand was Compeed. So yeah, that sounds like battling saddle sores.

  • Looks like UB will take the road from Nevesinje to Gako, and he might get a pleasant surprise. When I routed it in RWGPS and it said there was 500m climbing in 50km but in reality it was pretty much flat. The profile looks really jagged on RWGPS, not sure what was going on.

  • Yes I have that, but frankly it's fucking shit and zero use.
