You haven't cycled in Germany unless some asshole in a car yelled RAAAADWEEEEEG at you while texting and swerving all over the road.

I always found that argument funny. Same as the "I'm in a hurry but I'll take the time out to have a go at the cyclist just trying to use the road to get to work" or whatever. Drivers in every country have their fucking cunts.

i recall quite a few close passes from german drivers if there happened to be a cycle path (of literally any quality) adjacent to the road. A friend of mine got close passed then the driver stopped down the road to lecture him and asking was he trying to get himself killed etc
No problems on roads where there was no cycle path.
