While I’m here, if anyone has a 3T funda pro fork that they could let go, I’d be interested.
It would help make my deathtrap Solo slightly less deathtrap. -

I think there was a NOS one on eBay.

Just had a peek but cant see any quick release axle uk based ones. Could you link me to it please?
-
• #555
I do. It's a new uncut OEM (unbranded) one I got from PlanetX years ago and have never used. Happy to let it go for what I paid for it (£100 I think) plus postage.

Any chance you could link me to it please?
I don’t see any uk based qr forks -

Sorry, didn’t see this when posting there. Could you send me a few pictures? It’s a 3t fork without the logos?
I was maybe hoping for something with colours that would be a match for the frame but beggars can’t be choosers. -

Sure, I'll dig it out after dinner.

I have one with a crack at the top of the steerer. Happy to pass on for free for operation deathtrap

Dodgy fork for dodgy frame? I see Providence.
How long is the steerer? Chop the cracked bit off and it’s good to go? -

I've got an anodised grey soloist (maybe 2007?). I bought it second hand c. 2016 and it has a brass shim in the seat tube. I've always been careful with tightening the seat-post clamp but it's never slipped. No cracks last time I checked either.
Good idea to swap the fork... those wolf ones were recalled, I think because they were snappy.

It's basically a plain UD finish with a massively long steerer. There's a tiny scratch on one leg but it's not structural.

Thanks that looks ideal and I’ll most likely end up taking it, but if you don’t mind, I’ll hold off just a wee while to see if I find anything a little more matchy-match for more HH points!

Have any of you dentists ever seen a 3T fork come like this on an S1?
The fork seems a bit dodgy.
It’s a 3T Funda Pro with a carbon steerer.
I’ve only ever seen a compression bung used on a carbon fork but this one has an an alloy sleeve that seems to have been epoxied into place and then a star nut tapped into it.I’ve never seen anything like this…
Anyone had an S1 with the same? Just want to know if it’s normal before I bin it.

9 months later I might need that fork after all!

I believe this is correct - they came with an alloy sleeve that you epoxied in, and then fit a SFN as usual.

Really?! Thats a relief thanks.
Thought I'd bought another lemon -

This is wild. Just been googling(don't know why I didn't do this first)
The point the guy makes at the 7.10 mark about the bung expanding the steerer has been annoying af on my gravel bike. If the bung is tightened enough for it not to pull out of the steerer, then it makes getting the stem on really difficult.
In the space of five minutes, I've went from thinking this 3T fork was destined for the bin to thinking I could do with an alloy sleeve in all my carbon forks.

You should have the stem on before you expand the expander
thinking I could do with an alloy sleeve in all my carbon forks.
Expanding bungs work fine, millions of plebs can't be wrong.
Of course the optimum solution is a super #tartmode Swiss cheese bonded in nut 🧀

Ah ok that makes sense. I’ll read up a bit more on this and give it a go.
Added bonus of making the frame a wee bit lighter too…
