Yeah defo. My wife is after an air fryer (I’m really against kitchen gadgets or single function things), having briefly looked into it, it’s just a tiny convection oven no? Maybe the yanks are so excited about them because they’re still on huge single element electric ovens.
It's much faster than a large convection oven and the air flow is more intense so it dries out the surface of the food faster. I did some pretzels recently from frozen dough and the instructions
for a regular convection oven said 15min, preheated to 200C. The air fryer did it in 6min at 180C.
