  • I’ve not seen any Severance chat here. Anyone watched it? For me, it’s been one of the best serieseses I’ve seen recently. Beautiful, well cast, well written and not afraid to be a little obtuse or to not have some sort of action or event happen every 30 seconds.

  • Yeah there was some Severance chat when it was on. It's fantastic.

  • THIS.
    It's insane.

  • Ah, I think I’d forgotten just how late I was to this!

It’s refreshing to see something (especially an American something?) where they’re bold enough to have plenty of stuff just hang around unexplained for several episodes, or even the whole series. The basic, central premise is unpacked in the first episode, but it teases out a lot of the context and ramifications of that conceit over quite a long time for a show like this.

Also I’m struggling to come to terms with Ben Stiller. I hate Ben Stiller! How dare he confound my expectations!

  • Just started mindhunter really enjoying it.

  • Enjoying 'The Baby'. Refreshing to see a largely female cast and crew also.

  • Not new, but I have been watching 'The Mick' on Dismal+.

Amusing enough, with a 7yo stealing the show.

  • Watched the first episode of new Resident Evil netflix. The highlight is the Netflix logo including the umbrella logo.

Otherwise absolutely tosh. Don't think I'll watch the rest unless anyone's seen it and says against all odds that it gets much better

  • Considered watching it the other day, Looked it up on IMDB and it gets a lot of 1/10 reviews- I would stop now 🙂

  • Ah that's a shame, I love a bit of shitty resident evil, I'll probably watch it at some point anyway.

  • I’ve been watching s.w.a.t on Netflix. It’s cheesey action. So good for when you’ve watched everything but need entertaining

  • Resident Evil got 4 stars in the Guardian review, we’ll probably watch it because my wife loves anything with zombies

  • Resi is on my list, once I finish Strange Things.
I love all the movies (even the shit ones)

  • Todays Saul. Again phenomenally good, quite possibly the best episode of something I’ve ever seen (once I read the episode synopsis to understand what I’d just watched. Simpleton).

  • Resident Evil isn't as awful as I thought it'd be. bit drawn out but no less corny than the films

Also really enjoyed The Bear which had snuck past me for last 2 months. world famous chef comes home to chicago to run his families beef sandwich shop, everythings fucked. high pressure kitchen shit, larger than life chicagoans doing their stuff. not a serious show but not haha funny either. fronted by the actor who played 'lip in US version of shameless.

  • I watched it utterly convinced I'd seen it before.

Not just 'Gene' working there - we see that a lot throughout the series - but the whole heist set-up too. I've no idea why.

  • Anybody else doing the new Westworld season?

It feels better paced than previous seasons.

  • Halo
After struggling with Star Trek and Ms Marvel dimensional changes wanted something single dimension to fulfill the SciFi need.
Halo does that by the bucket load. Dubious goodies and proper baddies, loads of death and exploding heads. Perfect.

  • Anyone else a fan of the Sandman? Coming to netflix next month, the trailers for it look like they have finally managed to do it justice.

  • Mindhunter why only 2 series...? Was so good

  • Is Ms Marvel any good? (Bearing in mind that I'm a middle aged bloke.)

  • Fincher had other projects was the line - apparently there was a cash issue too.

Does appear like there's a desire for more series at some point though.

  • I enjoyed it in a sort of background way. It feels very much like the origin story it's intended to be. Like all the Marvel series though, it either moves super slowly or very fast.

  • I liked it, for some reason I really identify with geeky Muslim girls from Jersey.

  • Looking to scrap Sky after many years as it is spendy and shit.

Any suggestions for a decent Freeview box?
Would either need to be fed from sky dish cables or WiFi/ ethernet cable as we don't have an aerial.

TV has Freeview build in but not internet, needs cables (might be able to hook the dish up, thinking about it...)

TL/Dr; looking for a Freeview box with storage for recordings. (4K would be nice)

Edit: belay that, Sky are £5 month to keep the box for a year. Will reassess when they put up the price
