Exceptional finish

The speed she came past the others at. Wow.
-
• #42229
Yeah I am happy we can stop talking about her having a bad finish.
When she watches this in replay she'll get confidence -

Loving the spicy language in the post-race interview too. Brilliant finish to a terrific stage.

Her vocabulary is liberating for sure, but I do wonder if she might reach more young cyclists with a cleaner language.

Sounds like Van Vleuten's 'nature break' was an attack of the squits. Imagine staying in a stage race when you have that to deal with.
-
• #42233
I did suspect that at the time, as the racing was on and you wouldn't normally stop for a piss then.

Got to forgive her for not being a native speaker.
Plus, what 10-11 year old wouldn't think: "Yeah, swearing... badass..." when hearing that interview?
-
• #42235
Haha you are probably right.

Worth her wait in fanta . Its so good to see her so happy balling her eyes out 🥲

Velonews reporting that Leo Hayter will ride as a stagiaire for Ineos at the end of the season (presumably after l’Avenir).

My admiration for her grows by the day.

Her interviews are entertaining, I do seem to remember her refusing to work for Marta Cavalli during some race earlier in the year though. Bit of a rivalry within the team perhaps. I was gutted to see Cavalli taken out in that bowling ball crash, she was the one pushing AVV the hardest in GC lately, was really looking forward to her impact on the race.

Valtteri Bottas was out with bottle supply yesterday with his partner Tiffany Cromwell's team.

Looks like he has good things to say about the Tour but also is helping to host a gravel race in Finland in 2023 so can get right to the gravel grinder thread.

That’s a strong interpretation. She was visibly working hard for Cavalli in the Giro Donne a couple of weeks ago.
-
• #42246
Yeah, maybe they'd squashed it!
-
• #42247
calling what they are going over "gravel" takes away the authentic painful experiences of British gravel as experienced by many others
its insensitive

• #42248
its like calling this 'gravel'
-
• #42249
True. It's much rougher than UK SFAB
-

we need more inclusive non-binary term like 'surface'
Cracking last 20 kms today. With an astonishing stage winning attack by Cecillie Uttrup-Ludwig.
