  • I was trying to work out how it was private land and seems to be she was on the driveway in front of her gran's house and the driver was trying to turn around or something, accelerated instead of braked and hit her. Mad that being on the driveway is enough to count as it happening on private land when the driver was coming off a public road.

    When a driver comes off the road and hits someone's house they seem to be done for dangerous or careless driving at the least. How is that different.

  • As I recall and IANAL it’s about where the loss of control or dangerous act started. In the one you flagged, the driver lost control on the road. In the driveway case it looks like she left the road whilst in control of the vehicle then lost control once on private land.
