• So a family friend of ours just had their bike stolen, about three years ago we managed to source it spruce it up and give it to her for her birthday,

    I have managed to find a little Raleigh for £10 on marketplace I’m going to pick up this weekend but need a few parts as cheap as possible to get it going nicely;

Pair of tires, 26 inch something for mostly town stuff like a big apple

Pair of 26 inch mudguards, any colour to suit 2 inch tire

Comfy gel saddle (60 kg female rider)

    Comfy grips and bars

Rear pannier rack, for 26 inch wheel likely to have a child on board

    Basket of some sort

    Decent D lock

  • I have a nice pair of Schwalbe Marathons (slick tread) if you'd like? I don't mind posting them. I also have a new condition whicker basket, plus gel ladies saddle. Possibly also grips, bars and steel mudguards, although will need to check if they're for 26" wheels.

  • I have some 26er mudguards although one end of one has been trimmed for some reason, anyway, free to a good home SE5 edit, not noticed location, they’re pos not worth it but pay for post and they’re yours

  • Where in somerset? Got some Conti double fighters in Bristol

  • Yep sounds good can you send me more info / photos?

  • Wellington, although, Bristol bike jumble @ bw cycling, 6th august, be there!

  • I had them there last time! Won’t be around on the 6th. Maybe I’ll send a friend with them

  • Ah! I missed last month, if you do, big blue/grey sprinter van

  • Got a saddle you can have for a fiver incl. p&p.

  • Will do, probably be tomorrow though since everything is in my storage lockup on the other side of town. But I can give you info, just ask for particulars.

  • Thanks.

Popped by local charity shop and managed to dig out saddle bars and have some tyres sorted.

So mudguards and grips and basket please

  • Sure, sounds like you're talking about one of those 'community bike shop' not for profit places, who have helped me out on several occasions. Or if it was a normal charity shop then it was a v good find:) Anyway, I'll let you know what I find.
