It gets held up (mostly in the US) as a ground breaking piece of early electronic composition. The original cover is decent. It's kind of Musique Concrete, actually not terrible to listen to, quite reminiscent of the radiophonic stuff.

What have been the best/most interesting electronic albums of the last few years?
I’ve enjoyed all the headline releases like Four Tet, Beatrice Dillon, Moderat I’m sure I must have missed loads of stuff that flies under the radar.

Tough one, if you're looking for the very best, like 5 star picks of IDM (which seems to be the genre closest to your examples) I'm not sure there's been anything released in the last couple of years.
Partly I think that's down to artists holding onto releases they wanted to be able to tour. Partly it's the way music is released now.
Outside of my relatively niche interests I've not heard a single new album in the last couple of years that's anything close to Four Tet - Rounds.
Going back a bit further there are plenty of great albums that haven't dated.
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85- 92
Global Communications - 76:14
James Blake - Overgrown
Burial - UntrueThere have been some label compilations I've enjoyed
Futureboogie Compilation 10
Hoga Nord - The Effect Will Last ForeverIf you want to roll the dice try
Glaskin - Klaftertief
Michal Turtle - Michal Turtle Reinterpreted
Leslie Winer - When I Hit You You'll Feel It
Robert Hood - Mirror ManProbably best to go to Beatport, find the genre you are into and listen to the top 100 tunes!

Yeah, I saw... Got in touch with him again this year after many years of being out of touch... He drove me back to London from his place in Rugby one time, it was fucking terrifying... Always had a giant spliff on the go BITD... I had a lot of time for him, genuine music cat...
