  • Sounds good, assume it’ll fit on a kinetics rear triangle? Can’t quite work out how they mount from the pictures…? Also potentially interested in pedals. MKS GR9s I have feel a bit small underfoot

  • Brompton and a bike trailer, any experiences / recomendations / thoughts. n+1 is great but don't have the space for a cargo bike but often need to haul something a bit big / bulky.

  • Ah! Yes of course, kinetics, hmmmm. Probably not with the lh dropout being so long :/

  • Mate is thinking of buying a P line. I heard there was issues with the 4sp derailleur - anyone heard anything? @sbbohr

  • It’s loud and a bit crude? @hoke probably has more miles on one

  • Cheers. I’ll wait for more feedback.

  • Ah shame. You don’t happen to have any close up pics of how it’s supposed to mount? I couldn’t find much other the product shots rather than in in-situ on a bike…

  • I honestly wouldn't bother.
The gear range isn't wide enough imo, also the issues you mention.
If you're in London you can come ride our demo

  • Can just get a p line and fit a BWR wheel to it?

  • Where’s your demo? It’s not for me, a friend who’s developing into a bit of a weight weenie is thinking of it.

  • Does Brompton caliper QBRCAL fit a B75?

  • yes, but why?

  • Advice on SJS website: PRE 2018 bikes will need the rear hole of the fork drilling to 8mm from 6mm. - Please ask our sales team about this.
Wasn't sure if it applied to the B75, or not!

Why you need to change the brakes? The older calipers are better..

  • Have upgraded levers & pads & they're still not brilliant!

  • hey man, it’s been a week with no communication since I paid for those rotors from you, it’s cool if you haven’t had time to post them but if you could reply to my pms and give me an update that would be sweet

  • What pads? Swissstop bxp? There is literally no difference in power to the new brakes, the lost the brass bush too for a plastic one which is a shame! I wouldn’t bother

  • Haven’t seen any pms, I’ll look now!

  • Thanks, but got some already. Appreciated for thinking for me.

  • I probably skip the 4 speed derailleur system and go with a 3 speed external instead.

The 4 speed design isn’t that amazing and you probably get the same range of 3 speed as the 4 speed will not replace the 6 speed system.

Also with the 4 speed derailleur it biggest issue is when you fold and the chain tension will automatically become slack and when you try to fold it in gear one and rotate the crankset backwards the chain will drop and become stuck in gear two. This is more apparent when you try to unfold the bike.

Personally save your money and get a C line or an older Brompton with the old derailleur system.

  • Thanks for advice, yes BXP; was sold on dual pivot being more efficient.

  • No worries man, I figured it would be a technical issue like that, let me know here if if they’re not working? Sorry for hijacking this thread folks

  • Which calipers?

  • Good morning

I am a proud Brompton newbie. First timer and absolutely loving it. As a 50 year old I feel like I have gone full circle in my cycling exploits after starting out as a 5 year old BMX boy. LOL

I have a few Brompton mechanical queries..should I post here or the mechanical issues section?

    Thanks
