  • I like to think he’s one of those people who brings positivity to a squad when he’s happy and playing.

I think this too but with zero evidence apart from the fact he looks like a chirpy lad and seems to smile a lot!
Not one of those guys that just look even angrier when they score!

  • Yeah, that's annoying. You can normally get the post-match analysis as a show on iplayer so shows the goals, etc but obviously it tells you the score.

  • think Lingard could be good shout for Forest. O'Brien even better signing.

obviously Forest had to do business but I hope they are keeping the core of their promotion winning team together. someone mentioned that is 11 new signings now. that would worry me

  • The core of our promotion side were loan signings so we've had to sign a new side. Plus Spurs signed the one player we wanted to keep, Djed Spence. Agree O'Brien looks like he could be tidy, hopefully the rest slot in well. Exciting times.

  • cheers dude, understood. hope they slot in as would like to see Forest get properly established in the PL. easy to trust in Cooper. exciting times for sure

  • I hope they overstretch themselves financially and get fucked over with points deductions and transfer bans until they plummet to the depths of oblivion.

  • Mel Morris has some time on his hands to write his autobiography.

  • Ben Mee has an electric car, is offsetting the carbon created by his move to Brentford and seems genuinely interested in the environment. Large respect, especially after how he dealt with the 'white lives matter' debacle.

  • especially after how he dealt with the 'white lives matter' debacle.

What did he say about it?

Bear in mind too this was minutes after the final whistle, not a prepared statement.

He was a real hero at Burnley and sad to see him leave. Not just a real leader on the pitch but also represented the club very well and by all accounts very respected by the other Premier League captains. Always willing to put his head in where the boots are flying

Also does a lot of stuff with the charity Tommy's. A bit surprised he's moving down south to be honest.

  • I wonder how many Ben mee elbows there were noted on the last few seasons? It was a speciality of his after all...

  • If someone is willing to take a vocal stand against white supremacy then I dgaf how many elbows they throw

Unless - in an ironic twist of fate - it turns out they have racist elbows

  • Burnley have taken out a strange loan to get an advance on future payments they’re due for Nick Pope.

It really does make me wonder about their owners.

  • Is it strange? Loads of businesses in lots of different industries enter factoring agreements - cash now is sometimes better than profit later.

  • They did the same with the Chris Wood money. It's not unheard of in football with quite a few other clubs doing it (Leicester did it with the Mahrez sale for instance) but it doesn't seem a great idea.

Personally I'm more comfortable with factoring transfer income rather than future revenues.

It's not ideal but it's bringing your cash in line with accounting treatment so isn't disastrous. Obviously the flipside is your transfer purchases, if you're using the factoring to increase leverage and pay fees up front to get cheaper signings then it may not be a big issue. If you're factoring your income but your outgoings are still due over a number of years then that isn't great.

  • Barcelona at the moment are flogging off loads of their future income. Bits of the next 25 years of TV income, merchandising, etc, all to spend on players like Raphina and Lewandoski.

That strikes me as fairly risky.

  • Barcelona is a state of mind

  • Who was it again that said it was staggering how incredibly successful business people end up being incredibly poor football executives?

To gamble away billions like Barça are doing is something else.

  • Some great play for the goal. Sweden a real physical challenge but play is a bit more one-dimensional than Spain.

  • Was a really nice passage of play from England that lead to the 1st goal.

  • Megs!

    Taxi for the keeper.

  • What a wonderful cheeky goal. Amazing

  • amazing goal

  • Oof, as a former goalie I felt that one.

  • Solid performances second half, a joy to watch our lionesses
