I think the Ortlieb stuff is tarpaulin. Cordura is more like a fabric.

The material available here looks quite similar, and is weldable with a specialised iron. I've been wondering if it's possible to make a welded framebag with it https://iron-raft.co.uk/shop/

What's the name (trade or otherwise) of the PVC backed polyester type material that Ortlieb and the like are made from and it's it possible to DIY weld to any strength, or does it need to be stitched and sealed? I'm sure I actually have some in a box somewhere, but probably not enough for what I have in mind.
