Don’t buy Grenson’s. They’re shit for the price nowadays and mostly made overseas. Not that there’s anything wrong with overseas manufacturing, but they still price them the same/higher than brands who still manufacture in Northampton.

Seconded. don’t buy grensons, i had 4 pairs which were my first venture into proper shoes and they never last long enough to consider a resole, the 3 pairs of trickers and cleverleys (RTW by crocket and jones) i purchased subsequently are much better made pairs of shoes.

I took some Birkenstocks to a local cobbler to see if they could be rescued. I tend to wear out shoes on the out edge of the heels and ball of the foot too.
He said he could only reheel them, but to my surprise when I collected them he’d “had a go” at resolving them.
I’m very happy with the results

not really proper but liking the look of these - I know Paraboot do this look but 'more'... https://www.sebago.co.uk/item/471/Sebago/Knight-Dk-Brown-beige-Camel-brown-Dk-beigetaffy.html
I only found them because insta has been trying to get me to buy some pale suede deck shoes and I'd finally caved but no stock in my size, gutted...
I want a pair of these - https://www.sebago.co.uk/item/221/Sebago/Ranger-Hairy-Suede-Beige-Camel.html
Also - Grenson are now shit fashion shoes as others have stated

These are my new summer indoor slippers. They are so comfy you forget what a visual monstrosity they are.

Are they made from the same material as crocs, EVA I think?

Pretty sure they are. Very bouncy. I expected my feet to get really hot in them, but not in the slightest

Hmm. It's been raised before on this thread and think it's only fair to mention Grenson have a (clearly rather stupid and confusing) classification system.
G One shoes are still made in Northampton and the pair I have I would say are equal quality to Cheaney / Trickers.

Yeah, like I said 'mostly' made overseas. Just don't think they're very good value.

It’s so strange, you rip people for wearing these things, then once you’re on the dark side you love it there.

They’re nice - I keep being tempted by the Anglo Italian ones but crepe sole >>>>

Rep.
My favourite line in the last few pages is 'don't be that guy' with respect to court appearances. You can always always tell.
I'm all for comfort, and I get that most don't wear suits and shirts, let alone shoes on most days. I don't anymore and have 20 suit shirts hanging up that are touched less than once every 3 months.
But when you do, just like a bike, make sure they fit you and you are comfortable. Then make sure they look cared for. Just like that guy with dirty chain on the ride, some things are important

What suggestions to go with a navy summer suit - pretty casual, probably worn with a t shirt.

Nice - I've got a pair of NPS Chelsea boots that I picked up as NOS bargain a while back, they feel like slippers even with the leather sole, good to see the quality is still there!
Worth signing up to afinepairofshoes mailing list for the sale notification - always seems to be some nice stuff & plenty of sizes if you get in early

I'd go dark brown suede anything... or black leather loafers, with navy socks...
Just expressing my opinion but never white trainers with those silly little hidden sock things, yuk
Duck feet or kavat perhaps?
