    JV sitting up after Pog crashed not only very sporting but a stroke of genius. Pog couldn’t then attack again on the descent so it removed almost all the risk of crashing out for JV for the stage. Similar to Wiggo when he won. His nearest rival was crash magnet Port who punctured at the top of a climb with a treacherous descent (Wiggo of course awful at descending). As yellow jersey wearer and ‘peloton patron’ Wiggo neutralised the descent while waiting for Port to get a change of wheel and catch up. The descent was basically the last risk for Wiggo before Paris.

  • Are you sure about that? Didn't he slow for Cadel (not a crash magnet, actually the defending Tour champion) who had punctured along with a bunch of other riders because some cunt had thrown tacks on the road?

  • Porte was riding for Sky when Wiggins won the Tour. One can only assume @Alan_tbt is confusing his Australians and meant Cadel Evans.
