-
• #41907
Pogacar is a bit done for surely with so many JV options in this group and up the road?
-
• #41908
Big question of the day: when will Pinot crack
-
• #41909
I'd have hedged my bets on either Vingegaard or Pogacar but the hairy descent has taken some zip out of the pace, though this might change as Pogacar must be conscious he's running out of road here.
Van Aert seems to be avoiding turns (which makes sense, not being a climber and having his leader behind, leaving Martinez and Pinot to work, but Pinot doing the lion's share by the looks of it? So yeah, stage to Martinez or van Aert...!

Vingegaard stuck to Pog and Kuss pulling them (with Thomas) up the climb.

Ta - watching now. Missed what happened earlier - was there a crash for Pog?

• #41915

• #41916
pog took a spill on the descent, after jonas had a wobble. jonas waited for him to catch up. team car came up for pog, heated words were had, commentators think he was being told to attack more and he said nah boss

• #41917
He overcooked it into a corner and had to back off. Too keen getting back on the power and went down in some sand at the side of the road.
Vingegaard waited for him and they shook hands.

Pogacar attacked a few times on climb 2 out of 3, Vingegaard always reacted well.
Pogacar attacked cresting over the climb to no avail, went down quick. Vingegaard had a hairy moment, Pogacar went for it more and crashed himself off some gravel after overcooking a turn.
Vingegaard waited for the (fortunately not so) wounded rival, they shook hands, Vingegaard took Pogacar's wheel for a good bit of well earned sucking.
Pinot paced Martinez and van Aert up the lower slopes of the final climb just to crack and let them go towards a win that was never going to be his.I think that covers it.

Pog repeatedly attacks to no avail, including overcooking it slightly on a downhill
