I was the juror on a locked room murder last year and the pigs kicked the door straight through under v similar circumstances?
The neighbour upstairs called them to say about the smell from the flat below and no answer from the occupant. Police turned up a few mins later, checked, knocked, then kicked it straight through to find the body rotting away in there.
They never said anything about the landlord or needing a warrant? Just went straight at it.
Spoiler.......................the neighbour who phoned them turned out to be the killer.
