  • My wife and I were given a soprano and a tenor pair of Ukes as a wedding present. Wicked instrument. I'm currently learning, I got you babe by Sonny and Cher, and the White Stripes Fell in love with a girl. Ukes Rock

  • been finding it hard to pick up the uke since it became ubiquitous advertising shorthand for caring/kooky/unthreatening/cute/fun. it's now indelibly linked in my mind with revolting advertising in the early 00s. the sound of mobile phone, fast food, banking and car companies all desperately pretending to be you bestest local homemade organic environmentaly responsible dweamy ickle fwwwwwwends. those dating site ads just about did for me.

  • Thinking about a banjo next... Been listening to too much Hayseed Dixie

  • which i realise is a ridiculous attitude cos yes, ukes are a lot of fun.

apparently they teach it in school instead of the old recorder these days.

  • I love the uke! Used to live with a girl who was in KaraUke, kareoke with a live uke backing band, and we used to have a lot of impromtu uke jams (we all ended up with ukes in the end....hehe) I haven't played much for a while, but I really enjoy it, as it's the only instrument I've ever managed to feel like I was getting any where with!

This is one of my favs: http://youtu.be/hDJF7mu6TwE

  • Hayseed Dixie

I drank bourbon shots with them at a festival bar during a very drunken night that resulted in a multi day hangover worthy of the worst hangover thread.

Picked up my uke for first time in ages, currently butchering Toxic, Eleanor Rigby & Country Roads. I need to revist Lonely Room as I used to know the simple chord version of that.

  • I made this in lockdown 1 from 2x4 and some cherry and pearwood offcuts. The white plastics are melted milkbottles

    I can't play for toffee.

  • Awaiting delivery of a Fender Rincon Tenor uke, will soon be butchering songs slightly louder than before with further option to amplify.

  • It is lovely, I can't do it justice.
