It’s just an opinion. We all have them

Done out of spite, purely to stop him voting for Mordaunt today.
-
• #75829
Meanwhile sex-pest Pincher and the MP being investigated for rape can both still vote.
-
• #75830
That's a pathetic excuse. It's a shitty, bigoted, indefensible opinion.
-
• #75831
Johnson certainly is vindictive isn’t he? Will it be Truss then leading us to the sunlit uplands?
-
• #75832
Wtf. What does 'not very tolerant of' even mean in this context? What other body types or physical characteristics do you feel intolerant of? Do you seriously believe it's 'just an opinion'?
-
• #75833
But hey, if you’re an MP conducting official diplomacy with a country which has troops of an aggressive power stationed literally at their doorstep, and which you were given permission to be away for then that’s really not on.

Party before Country, again,
well continuously. -

I enjoyed Johnson complaining about wasting time on the no confidence motion, before being reminded by the speaker that the government proposed it. Stupid twat.
Interesting detail in this Guardian piece on Ellwood losing the whip:
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jul/19/tobias-ellwood-loses-tory-whip-after-missing-confidence-voteOther Conservative MPs cancelled foreign trips, left poorly relatives and one MP’s mother died on the morning of the vote and still attended and voted, the source said.
Missing the immediate aftermath of your Mum's death to take part in a pointless no confident vote which was only being held to massage the vanity of a fat*, lying moral vacuum of a soon to be ex-PM.
As someone who lost a parent suddenly and traumatically a few months ago, but who was very glad to be there nonetheless, I wonder if that MP will regret their life choices.
*Yes I'm fat shaming Boris and I don't care.

Is that really such a problem? It's the majority and it's a lifestyle that is destroying the planet.
Somebody with an obese pet will be criticized and the term Gammon is pretty popular on here. -
• #75837
Isn't being overweight sometimes the result of eating disorders or other medical issues (among other reasons that are hard to control)
You wouldn't blame someone who is anorexic for their situation. Saying everyone who is bigger has themself to blame 100% seems simplistic -

Perhaps learn about how people end up overweight and why it's difficult for many people to reverse that. And finally, why being fat shamed makes it worse rather than better.

That's a sliding scale. There is a lot of behaviour that people are called cunts for which might be the result of mental health issues. A lot of it might be the result of pressures in society which then gets shaped by people damaged by it.

It’s my opinion that if someone is dangerously overweight for their own sake they should try and live a healthier life style.
I read the other day that obesity costs the nhs over £6 billion a year.

CCHQ cancelling the debates was probably for the best.

There is also the society element.
It's less if an issue in the Netherlands because of cheaper fruit n veg & cycling and walking infrastructure.
Obesity is also linked to poverty in the UK.
Of course it's far better if people try to have a healthy weight.
Somebody like Boris Johnson can get healthy meals delivered & the best training but most of us have to put time & energy in cutting flab.
It should be a wee bit easier perhaps?

100%. Cheap food is generally shit food lacking in nutrition.
I’m just saying if she’d been cycling no fines, healthier lifestyle etc etc. I thought a cycling forum would encourage cycling

Environmental catastrophe
Continuing rise of the Right / culture warIt's literally the most depressing thread on the internet.
the remaining % is tangentially cycling related. Maybe.

People aspiring to overcome their anxiety/depression/whatever and lose weight is a good thing.
Mocking them for being fat and not looking like they do exercise is not going to encourage people to aspire to overcome their demons.
Why are these indolent, workshysters carrying out Party business during working hours?
