  • What's your official laptop power supply, is that the 19.5V/3.34A (i.e. 65W)? Dells (and probably other laptops) can be antsy if the charger is underpowered and may throttle the processor.

What will the USB-C one be doing, if anything, apart from powering your laptop?

I'd normally go Anker, Ugreen seem decent and I assume that Amazon Basics won't kill you. If it's got multiple sockets then check that one can output the full power (or as much power as you need).

Yes I think so, but will check.

As in the charger? It will go into a USB C hub that has my screen and keyboard and plugs into the thunderbolt port on the laptop.

Ultimately I could just use the BT on the keyboard and plug in two cables. But I'd rather have one cable to insert and make it a bit neater. Also my WFH pattern is very haphazard right now with me in the office a lot more than home.

  • Yes, wondering if it was powering anything beyond the laptop (screens, HDDs, etc)

Sounds like 65W from a decent brand should be ok
