• I'm just about to start on our kitchen.
    Luckily it's only about 2m x 2m.
It has wooden floorboards currently which will need to come up as I'd like tiles in there.
What do you put down instead of floorboards on the joists to tile? Ply? Or is there some sort of other board?

  • Is there anything to stop you putting 5.5mm ply over the top of the existing floorboards and screwing it all down every 150mm? Would firm everything up nicely and save you having to pull up the floorboards, buy and install a load of 18mm+ thick ply.
