I'm ever so confused by fizik sizing.
The size chart makes me think I'd need a 41.5 (normal EU size 40) as I've measured my foot and its 26cm. But that seems insane. And the men's and women's size chart is the same which they're usually not and ahhhh. -

I ordered a 41 for my Fi'zik Donnas given I always size up in cycling shoes and they are way too big. Gonna send them back and try my actual shoe size I think.

Halp!
My little footed partner wants to try spds but before we splash dollar dollar bills does anyone have a pair of shoes she can borrow/ we can buy for cheaps? She's a 3.5 or 36 in euros.

I have a pair of 5 / 38 you can have?
-
• #257
She has very small feet, she's closer to a 3 than a 4 so they'd definitely be too big if they're true to size. Thanks for the offer though!

• #258
Ah, yes they would be too large. Hope you can find some!

My GF got some new shoes (she commutes a lot, more recently got her a cheap road bike, liked it so got her a better one) as she was suffering with non cycle shoes. She's got tiny feet, about a size 3.5UK. So the only thing we could find that wasn't £150 was these Mavic Cyclo Tour, an MTB/touring specific shoe.
Was hoping that there would be a large enough area to work on a regular flat pedal but tried a few and its not happening, the shoe is so small that the area thats normally flat is a pretty severe curve! So tried her on SPD's and she likes them, for road bike on road ride, but road bike or commuter bike on commute... not so much.
Anyone any idea's on how to make these shoe's work with a flat pedal, or a flat pedal with a curved deck?

Please can anyone recommend some sandal type shoes for cycling in (no cleats)? I’m looking at doing more short casual rides and want something I can wear with a dress (!) / normal clothes.

birkenstocks have a nice thick sole which will grip a flat pedal well, provide comfort and have enough models ranging from closed to open toe, variety of finishes
although a bit utilitarian looking
a huarache sandal with a rubber sole would also be a good option
further than this you will find most sandle shoes with a sole maybe slightly thicker than your average pump or dress heel/shoe will be more than enough for cycling about in

Thanks.
I am not a birkie fan but will have a look again.I’ve ordered some walking sandals from Decathlon and will see if they transfer well to the bike.
I guess I should add my sidi shoe info. I have two pairs, one a 39, one a 40 both womens fit. The 40s I wear on the road bike with custom insoles & 39s on the indoor track bike only (strangely these felt too small on the road bike!?). Both are super comfy & fit perfect for my needs.
