Or else I guess I could buy a phone mount. But I don't really want to risk it or rinse my battery.

I've gone through sothern sweden with a list of major town names hand written on paper and taped to the tank.
For more precise directions it might be a bit more tricky.
Just get out there. Stop and check your phone once in a while. -

Cheers. I'm clearly being thick as you've basically provided the answer:
Ride past a motorcycle shop!
Theres one not far off route in St Albans.

That's the sort of thing I was originally thinking.
I guess my main worry was paper with no faring and fast A roads.

Try shop via a camera store (or maybe even Argos?)… get yourself a waterproof phone/camera sleeve thing like this, to put the notes in:

It worked on my naked bike on motorways.

You should still find it’s fairly still near the top of the tank as your clocks should create a bit of a buffer. As has been said write the major town names on a bit of paper and tape it down, I would add the road you leave town on as well (eg 414 Chelmsford; 414 Danbury; 414/1010 Burnham on Crotch).
Have a copy in your pocket and a copy on your phone. If you have a big rear map pocket, shove the paper copy in there with a paper map.

Is that an Ohlins shock too? If you don't, I might. Seems too cheap to me but could just be jealousy as mine wasn't that cheap.
-
• #21586
Can’t afford to. At that price it is worth it for parts!
Do it. You could easily flip it. But yea, seemed mega bargain compared to what yours has cost

Argh....
I do not need another bike. Or do i.

Bro, do you even biek?
-
• #21589
Yup - might have the cartridges in the forks too, tough to see clearly. Good buy that!

Rather embarrassingly dropped the Explorer today, went to move it and forgot the disclock was on, was on a slope and it caught me by surprise.
No major damage other than pride and a clutch lever.Does replacing a clutch lever involve much?
(It's only the tip that gone, so should be useable for the foreseeable) -
• #21591
If you file it smooth it will pass the MoT. But if it's jagged it's supposed to be a fail.
-
• #21592
I'd definitely file it regardess.
Also a tip I remember (which I've never n done) is to saw or file stress line in your levers just past the MOT length and/or your minimum usable length. That way if it gets knocked it breaks at the right place.
-
• #21593
But to the question, a clutch lever is normally quite easy. Depending how much adjustment there is on the lever you may not even have to slacken or disconnect the cable.

• #21594
Have to do ITV here, strict.

• #21595
just the tip
snigger
Swapping levers is piss easy. Hex keys and a little swearing.

Think you're missing the opportunity to fit a speedshifter.

• #21597
None in Eire, France or Germany. Think Belgium, Netherlands and luxenbourg maybe the same my brain forgets.

Even this has MOT, since I (occasionally) use it on green lanes.
Definitely getting a bit warm for it though.

Looking very purposeful there in the dappled sunlight. I finally relented and bought a motocross jersey and some under armour, no way could I survive next week's temperatures in my normal textile jacket.

I wear the Acerbis X-Air comp suit with a jersey, and then an old perforated AlpineStars textile jacket on top. Feel a bit naked on the road in just a jersey, mind.
Not sure they'll have any.
Anywhere near a sportsbikeshop?
There's one in Harlow now...
This is available in Reading & Harlow. If you've got a metal tank!
