Dorries as chancellor would be worth it for disaster tourism alone.

Priti Patel ruling herself out seems unnecessary. Surely she’s about as unelectable as they come.

(including our dear leader) were advocating voting for the Lib Dems, who went on to get a total of 12 seats.
I lose track, but from memory wasn't he fairly actively involved in advocating tactical voting in the last two GEs?
I had a friend who a few years ago had to vote tactically for the Tories as he lived in South Thanet (and we all know was standing there at the time)... he said he felt sick doing it.

I bet many on here voted for him.
I recall him being described as a 'legend' on here on multiple occasions.

When you FIL is a billionaire and your party is corrupt. Good, and likely not even that expensive, situation.

Yes, but it was advocating for the Lib Dems over Labour in Cambridge that I recall I got involved in calling out. Pretty sure Labour went on to win the seat.

disaster tourism
That would be one benefit. GBP falling to $0.80 / €0.80 would drive a lot of tourism here ;-)

I see; I'll step out as I can't remember, but I imagine in any data driven exercise there'll be mistakes in outputs etc.

So she is sentient, interesting.....

Not so many in the EU really want to go to the UK it seems right now. Between the airport shitshows and Brexit, it seems that it feels like a hostile environment for many.
-
• #75562
I get your point, but saying that no-one's coming here because of airport shitshows is a bit like the old Woody Allen joke that "no-one goes there anymore, it's too crowded".
-
• #75563
Let’s not jump to conclusions.
-
• #75564
But the shitshows are at least in part caused by locals leaving... that said, having been through Frankfurt (my local hub) a few times recently, I'm not enthusiastic about flying anything other than direct any time soon as that airport is also a massive ballache (average delay for me, 3 hours on trips that should have been 4-5 hours long).

I took a connecting flight in 2004. It was shit and I'm not yet regretting my decision to only go to places which are a single hop from London.
-

I’m in transit there next week, 2hr layover and 1hr on the way back. Bit worried about missing connections.

Only passports are now accepted and schools can no longer vouch for refugee etc. kids.
So school trips from mainland eu are a hassle now and many schools cannot make these work anymore.

I took a ... flight ... it was shit
Same. More broadly it's clearly a good thing if the golden age of cheap and convenient flying is over.
-
• #75570
You’re not likely to miss it as much as spend 3 hours sitting doing nothing in a terminal with nothing in it.

She’s pure evil isn’t she!

Bit shit for people that have distributed their family ties around the world though

Bit shit for people whose local area is going to become uninhabitable because of climate change though

You're not wrong. Her approval ratings among Tory party members are rock bottom.

Not the end of the world. Travelling is still a bit of a novelty :p
Imagine your government dictating how you should distribute your profits. She clearly struggles with grasping the Free part of Free Markets.
