Looks great.. I'm debating one at the minute.. have you tried on an oyster?
I'm in London for a couple of days, is there anywhere to buy one in the flesh?
Thanks

No, I popped it on a leather strap but much preferred the jubilee so put it back on that and that’s how it’s stayed.
Not sure if it’s confirmed that it takes standard 5KX-fitting end links (the case is fractionally different) but I would be surprised if it didn’t.
Seiko boutique in Knightsbridge might have them. Give them a call to check - 020 3105 6212.

The modern Seamaster 300 diver is really good I’ve realised. Really underrated watch

I can't get on with the damn helium escapement valve. Is it even necessary...

You mean to say you aren't a qualified saturation diver spending weeks at a time in pressurised environments breathing a helium-oxygen mixture?
Strikes me as the ultimate Walt feature.

Have had this longines for about 10 years, wear it very occasionally but like it. Don’t know much about other than potentially 1940s? Can’t locate an exact similar model online. Always wondered why the case is quite so worn on the back. May swap the strap to something a bit less formal.

Awesome, those lugs are very cool! I think the plating might have worn off on the backside due to wear. Maybe @vintage_watch_longines on instagram will know more.

I think water resistance so you can take it swimming or in the shower is a generally helpful feature. But for most of us, 300m water resist is a bit like having a car that does 150 mph when the speed limit is 70. Or a 53x13 top gear when you live nowhere near any HC descents and don't have Jens Voigt's legs.
