Haha!
Thanks - makes sense. Maybe I have left it too late for a box bike. -

Cool, I can remove the Hamax so you can try out the bench seat if you like.

Do 2nd hand Omnium Cargo Classics hold their value? Reason for asking, come October I have some parental leave with our 9-10month old and from reading here and a very quick try-out, I'm keen on finding a used Omnium Cargo + Thule bracket, Yepp Maxi seat. Downside: feels a bit decadent as have a Thorn 26" tourer and am not loaded but on the upside I imagine the Cargo is more fun than the Thorn, kid facing back to you is nice and the bike holds it value pretty well (does it?) so wouldn't lose too much when time to go back to Thorn and be a bit more serious.... Thanks for any advice, I'm voicing my internal doubts out loud/trying to find reasons not to etc....

Not that high I'd guess. Normal use no bother, but the current breed of high torque mid drives is gonna cause a lot of work for the lbs scrap bin.
Rode a brose motored bike that claimed to have 90nm. Either it had an issue, or that number is jumped up, e8000, ep8 or a gen 4 cx felt like they had more poke to them.

Would recommend trying out such a setup first, my kid hated facing backwards or in the front but loves sitting in seat behind me. Different stroke’s, there is no universal setup and kids are weird.

This is very true, my youngest loved sitting in the bullit whilst I built it, couldn't wait to get in it for a ride, but first trip didn't go great and she would have a panic attack (spontaneously throw up) on mere sight of it for a whole year. I gave her a 4 month break from any attempts and ever since she gave it another shot slightly older she's loved it, years later her little sister never had an issue.
Couldn't be happier with the bike but for that year I sincerely wished id taken her out for test rides on every config possible and gotten her feedback directly at the time. -

spontaneously throw up ... woooowww... thats maybe cause of the components? or maybe the paintjob??
joking aside, i am happy they/you are having fun now! -

ah! i see you have copied my trademark workflow of never locking at bike stands at supermarkets too. They are too far away, i want to load my trolley, put it back and ride off, fuck walking back and forth, if i wanted to do that i’d drive.

Lidl doesn't have any! They seem to care more about protecting their lamposts than accommodating eco-warriors. Means that someone is likely to reverse into it one day.
My other saddad accessory is two d lock holders on the front of the transporter rack (was fed up of fishing them out of the storm box or them taking up space in the front crate). You can just see the orange Evo4 there. They hang like bull bars, not sure how detrimental they are to pedestrian safety, but I certainly wouldn't like 50kg of bike and 110kg of rider crashing into me with those on the front. And my big Litelock Core hangs from a holder on the storm box rails on the inside of the cover. And the Abus chain for the cafe lock is in one of the inner pouches of the storm box. And the Hiplock Z (for helmet duty) is just dangling of one of the rear webbing loops. The Abus cable lock for the saddle never comes off.
I might need more locks....

Yep similar situation minus the vomit. I held onto the longjohn for a year for the reason of trying more and for us just still is not working. Versus putting her behind and we can go for hours without complaining. I have decided to just lean in and invest in improving the setup she likes. Funny story I bought the orbea katu from a family that where upgrading to a bullet. The kid was not getting on with the bullet and threw a screaming fit when we picked up the bike 🤷🏼♂️

20’ qr Dynamo wheels for non electric cargo bike. Are there any pre-built options or is it a case of buying the parts and building it yourself? Had a quick search and nothing obvious came up, lots or Brompton wheels or 26/700c options!
