  • Very late to the party here but I did this with my YT Capra, had the frame powdercoated, went at it with Posca paint pens and then some 2k clear from auto factors on top. It's help up remarkably well and that's as a bike that gets off-road abuse and rough washings so I'd feel quite confident in doing it on a road bike and having good longevity...

    I want to seal some decals stuck on top of powdercoat with clearcoat, but the internet strongly suggests it won't stick to the powdercoat. Have you had any issues? Thanks

  • Powdercoat is usually Polyurethane. There's not much that'll stick to that.

  • To be honest I haven't and it's adhered pretty well despite "not being suitable" but I may well have just gotten lucky and I wasn't going to be too upset if it didn't work out so I don't know that I could expressly recommend it...
