  • All this chat is sort of making me glad i just got a c line sturmey 3 speed. From a design perspective maybe it’s possible that that is the sweet spot between function and performance for the original design concept Suck up the weight - get stronger arms and legs 😜

  • I nearly did and you've got a point. I was using it to replace a motorbike and didn't want to have to cycle as hard in work clothes carrying work tools, I've done a bit of that in the past.
    In that way it's been successful. I've cut down the motorbike use and got fitter/lost weight to the point where I might get away with a 3 speed.

  • I was thinking the same about my 6 speed C-line. I don’t find it a heavy bike at all, either to ride or carry. The only thing that bugs me is that moving between my most favoured gears needs a double shift.

    I see that new P-line electric seems to have a new suspension block arrangement, as far as I can see from the one photo I can view.

  • yes, there is something about the classic 3 speed you cant go wrong with!
