^ been there in the past. Found recovery times varied, but basically it takes as long as it takes. Would expect a couple of months for it to fade. Generally always found walking OK, so long as I took it easy on slopes and stairs. Other thing I found helped (and still do) was long, daily leg stretches on all the main muscles. Mine gets aggravated by tight quads.
