Random observations on the electro/techno thing; I grew up with the Streetsounds Electro series with number 4 featuring both Run DMC's Sucker MCs and Cybotron's Techno City. There was definite blurring of the lines between electro, early hip-hop and proto techno back then.

Possibly a bit late to the party with the electro/techno chat but for me the classic dividing line for those coming along when I did was Dave Clarke's world service mix in 2001. Can't listen to that and be left in any doubt.

As an aside the two mixes really stand the test of time.
