Thanks for this but it's unnecessary.
That tape was already shot and worn through. I actually packed a couple of rolls of Fizik Tempo bright pink with me, intending to wrap the bars during the trip, thinking that some low level spannering would be relaxing. Oh the irony.
(Luckily I hadn't done it by the time of the crash)
I'll wrap once I've decided on handlebar integrity.
