• Reversed my (blue) car into this van. Oblique angle so more of a scrape then dent.

I'm told the repair quotes are 400 and 350.

I'll need to get a quote or two of my own of course, but does this seem high? Seems high to me.

  • Assuming the gouge out of the textured plastic wasn't your doing, 10 mins with a microfibre and some polish and I suspect that would be gone. Problem with getting anything done professionally on something like this is that you're unlikely to get anything done, regardless of effort, for much less than you quote. Its just not worth anyone's time to do the job when they can do something bigger/more valuable.

  • Hmm it seems like the oft-abused phrase "that'll buff out" could actually apply here. T-cut then wax? Good luck - if it was my van I don't think I'd be getting my knickers in a twist so hopefully the owner/driver of this one won't...

  • Is there any damage behind?

But to get someone to come out to a scrape is going to be around that. Does the guy need the van every day? So can't drop it off somewhere, so it is a dent guy coming out to him at a guess and maybe a van for the day?

  • That will mostly polish out. You could do it by hand with a microfiber and polish compounds. There's enough stone chips in that bumper anyway, I can't believe the van owner would bother with a repair. But props for owning up to it and not just driving away.
