I think the 1922 committee elections are next week - I got the wrong Wednesday myself above/a few pages ago.
You are correct but there are rumblings that they might move quicker than that.
I reckon they'll deliver him the same ultimatum that they delivered May sometime today.

Yeah - I think they have a meeting tonight @ 5pm

He'll just call their bluff and they won't be able to organise themselves.

2 more ministers have quit. That's a total of 16 who've quit since yesterday, inc Sunak and the Mekon. And PMQs starts soon. He'd be mad not to quit then.

This is what happens when the failing upwards mob end up in the hotseat, isn't it?

Will be interesting to see if anyone / who crosses the floor at 12noon.

It's a shame that Angela Rayner won't be leading the opposition at PMQs. She'd give him a proper humiliation. Dreary Keir will flunk it, as usual

Switching from Con to Lab? I don't think we're due for any of that

Got to wonder what is going through their heads at present. Blinded by their faith of Boris or well aware that this is as high up the greasy pole they will ever climb?

Zahawi's promising to do a lot for someone who knows he's not going to be in his job in about a day.
-
• #74863
There has been whispers of up to 6 MPs in talks about crossing for floor.
Its a bit of double edged sword, but it does reinforce in the minds of the general voters just how useless these Tories are.

Bojo won't resign. I'd put money on it.
-

Isn't that the point of his acceptance of/demand for the role? He can promise anything in this position with no threat that he'll have to actually follow through with it. It's basically a shop window for him with the membership to get those 'traditional' Tory credentials out there...

You'll be surprised what they can do when they're fighting for their careers.

World-beating:
Update.
It's now 18 resignations in 24 hrs.

Giro Donne or PMQs? Hmmmm

I always chuckle at “minister for the union” which should really read “minister for England”.

I always chuckle at “minister for the onion”

Agreed. I find the adversarial nature of the exchanges depressing, but this made me laugh out loud.
These letters are excellent reading.
I'm imagining handing my notice in at previous jobs where instead of saying things like "I've been presented with an exciting new opportunity for personal development elsewhere" I just say "I have no confidence whatsoever in your integrity and ability to do your job, and I think everyone in this team deserves much better"
