Another vote for keeping it. Replacing the brake lines should be a pretty simple job, and if it's mechanically sound otherwise there's no point spending £5k on something which may need equally expensive work done on it shortly. Bird in the hand and all that.

I'd keep it but if you do sell I might be interested

Thanks all, I will keep it for another year or 3! Better the devil you know and all that!

Should be… I got quoted an outrageous amount to do the rears on my 5-series because the whole lengths front to back had to be bent/shaped by hand from straight tubing. 👌

Odd one. Had a new key programmed for the car today. This evening I drove somewhere and my heated seat was on, when it shouldn't have been. Is it at all possible the coding did this, or complete coincidence? Gen 3 2005 outback.
I don't believe in coincidences, but also there is a manual switch for the heated seat, so I don't see how coding could affect that.
It's 37C here. I don't need a heated seat ffs.

Who knew. My dad had two of these. Very early memories.

Definitely looking better here. I think the ride height of the other car is too high which is affecting it.
So if you keep the OZ wheels, factor in some subtle lowering too.

tbh I don't like either of the wheels. I think i saw a pic somewhere of a Biturbo with these BBS beauties. I like https://driventowrite.com/2015/09/23/bbs-rs-alloy-wheel-design-classic/

I go for the lower pic, myself. Better rubber options too seals it.

Good point. I was looking AT New tires yesterday and in 205/45/16 and 245/45/16 there basicly are only tires i nerver heard of.
With The 17" With wider rims options are plenty ofc.

Yes well this hardly gets over pebbles as it is so dont know how they did that tbh.
The ks version were idd lowered 2cms from factory when fitted With these wheels. But i coukd not use The car if 2 cm lower ;/

Well im sort of in your boat but i think both look okay still. I dobt like those bbs either. In fact i dont know what i like :)

But i ordered a spacer so i can test fit and i will go from there.

I expect you've already considered 5 spoke Ferrari-syle.
What about something monoblock? This claims to be Maserati-style https://www.jovawheels.com/maserati-quattroporte-wheels-custom-maserati-bronze-wheels_p1562.html

Could possibly work visually with the boxy ghibli character or could be a complete missmatch, guess you wont know till you see it .)
Regardless the bcd and centerbore are all wrong for my car like most other wheels unfortunately.
Its not easy to find 106x5 with center bore of 58.5 cause one car in the world had it and only for 1 year it seems as well. Italians do it better..

You sound like you make decisions like I do... Painfully! Haha, I reckon fit up the OZ 17" wheels. They are very cool wheels. Good tyre choice at that size too. Keep the the original 16"s in storage. But we need pics when it's all sorted.

Haha no i have no idea what u r talking about .)
Right now my wheels are in poor shape and with bad rubber and ive been fine with that for a few years, mostly cause knowing i had these futura in the basement but now that i started the process im the usual me obsessing over every detail known and unknown.
Will do, even if it wont be perfect im sure ill be happy in the end. Pics after summer (i hope).

Reversed my (blue) car into this van. Oblique angle so more of a scrape then dent.
I'm told the repair quotes are 400 and 350.
I'll need to get a quote or two of my own of course, but does this seem high? Seems high to me.

Isn't that the kind of thing where the owner of said van says, ah it's nothing don't worry.
Surely it'd buff out.

I’d be surprised if most of that doesn’t polish out to be honest

Fine machine. I had 2 and loved them.
Funny that it's badged as a 3500SE when being police spec it has keep-fit windows, no wood trim and no sunroof.
Also the article is wrong - it's a 3 speed automatic. A 4 speed would have vastly improved it.

Originals look best in my book. Something isn't quite right with the Futurras. They're maybe too flat-faced.

Assuming the gouge out of the textured plastic wasn't your doing, 10 mins with a microfibre and some polish and I suspect that would be gone. Problem with getting anything done professionally on something like this is that you're unlikely to get anything done, regardless of effort, for much less than you quote. Its just not worth anyone's time to do the job when they can do something bigger/more valuable.
Jeez. Wtf i assume this is one of those ads that is similar to the campy shamal wheels asking for 3000 euros or similar (in bicycle terms)
But if these wheels are worth even half of what he is asking ill sell them in a heartbeat. It would certainly make my wheel choice dilemma a lot easier. My set has a few hundred miles or so.
This just gives me the scares as its next to impossible to find parts for these cars now a days and it going to get really expensive to keep owning this car if unlucky and the failing parts is of the "wrong" kind.
