My Cotic clicked all the time until I replaced the chainstay bushes
Edit: Yours only has bearings, so ignore that. Or, it might be a bearing

It may be new bike time too, don't rule that out

I’m wearing my full face today so it’s harder to hear the noise.

Tyre question: I'm currently running Maxxis High Roller IIs on my On-One Scandal - feels like they might be too much tyre for the bridleways and woods that I ride round the Chilterns. Any recommendations for something a bit more trail / XC oriented that will save me some weight? I am vaguely looking at Hutchinson Toros. Disclaimer - I know next to nothing about "modern" mountain biking. Thanks

I like the Vittoria barzo a lot for general riding. Ardent race might be a maxxis equivalent.

+1 for Barzos. Perhaps the best all round XC tyre I've ever used
Make sure to get the TNT graphene version though

Looks rubbish

That's the one!
Bargain, as they're usually about £40 each :-)

Thanks, love a monday morning bargain!

Wow that's cheap.
Imo orange seal is the best.
If yo don't have a good pressure gauge get one, people complain the sidewalls on Vittoria are weak, but imo/e they only pinch when pressures are low. I run about 21/23 psi with cushcore at 73kg. -

It is 😉
Here's my eldest boy following me down Le Pleney, oh and a good shot of the new High Roller II that I fitted last week

Your brake lever angle looks very steep, it might just be weird perspective on the photo though

Vink line at Chatel- green is an interesting designation for the lower section.

Yup, I saw all the guys who ride like me (bang average) carry on down the Blue and all the guys who look like they have all the skills head down the Green.
Having done the top section of the Vink line I didn't feel like following them

It's very well built, but fuck me it's fast - and you can get yourself into trouble very easily.

Barzos arrived, by some margin the easiest tyres I've ever fitted. Bike definitely felt more sprightly on a 5-min spin round the village. Very happy so far, thanks all.
Anyone want to buy some lightly used High Roller IIs?
I pulled the crank, clamped it on my toolbox lid (I literally made it for this task!) and can confirm that the lock ring is PFT.
I’ll take a look at the main pivot during evening maintenance.
