Has anyone ever "done the math" on what the different categories cost to run p.a? I've never checked the rating of any appliance I've bought as I've (lazily) assumed that it's either de minimis or not enough to offset a higher purchase cost over a 10 year lifespan.

There is a way of muting it. Highly recommended. Saves you from the cost of a new machine too.

It's only pressing a couple of buttons to silence it!
press the 'rinse' and 'spin' buttons for 3 seconds. A struck through speaker icon appears

Jazzy tunes silenced. Still works great.
