I always like seeing van Aert doing well. I think the first two stages in France will suit him but he may be on duty for Roglic and Vingegaard to a degree.

Bardet and Pinot for me. Used to be very meh about Thomas but growing fond of him recently. Martinez purely cos of the facial hair. Would love to see Pederson go home with something after so much hype and prep from him after a strong spring. Of the big favourites, I want Roglic to win.

Who are you cheering for in le tour, and why? I don't have anyone to cheer for, because of lack of Cav. Who should I like? Geraint is a good egg, with an appealing line in slapstick with his crashes and his wardrobe malfunction. But his team always has evil sponsors and nasty management. Money rules.
In the Giro Donne I cheer for Chiara Consonni, because of this, which always renews my faith in cyling and in life generally https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=997350427265003 I also admire her team for doing such a sterling job of developing juniors, apparently in a supportive, sympathetic way, without bullying or misogyny.
