If you're a confident, assertive cyclist it's the same as cycling in any other city really, just busier! If staying closer is an option it might not be a bad idea though, if you've got your bike with you anyway you could spend the time you would "commuting" exploring the more scenic parts of West London. Not all of the commute from east to west is particularly pleasant or scenic.

If you have any choice in the matter, get a nearer hotel. I really don't see the point of making life hard for yourself. As well as "London traffic" you also have the problems of navigating an unknown city.

Can confirm that they fit through letterboxes.

Wondering if I should find a hotel that is closer…
Hell yes, that would be a crappy journey and unless you need to be near the Olympic park there’s little reason to be that east (ever).

Personally I find cycling in London better than cycling in most places in the UK. Slow traffic and lots of cyclists makes things a lot easier (if you steer clear of the HGVs and skip lorries).
But unless you have a good reason to stay near the Olympic Park I'd go somewhere more convenient. It wouldn't be my first choice of where to stay even if I wasn't working the other side of London.

How about a bit of wild camping in Richmond Park? I've always wanted to do that.

Someone on here must know about compressors. I dont, but need to source one. Replacing a Wolf Dakota 100.
Ideally - quiet, vertical, 100l. I understand a screw type will be quieter?
Could spend up to 1k
What should I buy?

A few years ago I did a lot of night walks off piste in RP, amazing place. You could smell the deer before you saw them and the only place I’ve seen a live badger.

Saw a live badger whilst descending
BastardBroomfield Hill at ~180rpm. #donotwantCamping in RP is obviously forbidden, but it seems plenty of people attempt it and get away with it. Doing it whilst the park is shut overnight for the deer cull really wouldn't be the most sensible thing to do. And you'd be a complete **** if any campfire got out of hand.
Guessing camping on nearby Wimbledon Common is also verboten (yep, byelaw 3 here: https://www.wpcc.org.uk/the-commons/byelaws) but, again, I've seen plenty of tents over the years (mostly homeless I would guess).

No good reason other than the hotel costs £65 vs £150+ anywhere closer to Richmond.

• #113263
That's as good as reason as any!

Premier Inn Brixton is £66.50

Premier Inn Brixton is £66.50
Brentford is even cheaper and much nearer to Richmond

Wests can recommend The Roastery coffee shop/cafe at the north end of Kew Bridge.
Also the adjacent Express Tavern for a post-work drink. -

Wandsworth premier inn is supposedly cheaper. Depending on where you want to reach in Richmond it's quite close.

Plumbing question - we have in our new kitchen setup a washing machine that drains into a microfilter which then drains into the under sink waste water connection. Except at the moment it doesn't and the filter is being bypassed as when it's all connected up the hose from the filter to the sink is much too long and the washing machine gets upset and won't drain properly... so my question is, can you get a waste water hose that is very short, like about a foot or so long, with regular screw fittings to the drain outlet from the filter and the connection to the sink?
Thanks!

Two standard screw-on hose connectors, hose cut to size and a couple of jubilee clips to secure the hose? Jubilee clips might even be overkill here - but I'd use them.
Fairly sure I’ve seen flexible waste pipe, of the type that concertinas up, in shorter sizes too? But that tends to have a screw connector on one end only?

Thanks - I wasn't sure if it was possible to shorten those types of hoses and still get a good seal. What type of screw on connectors do you mean, please? Can you get them separately from the hoses with them already in situ?

This kind of connector (fairly sure you can get them with in-line hose adaptor bits also) - screws straight onto the connection on the trap. Then hose the correct diameter?
Unless anyone else has a better suggestion, of course (or I've linked the wrong thing).
Or these:

The cheap eBay quad lock"compatible" universal adaptor.
Is it a good alternative?
I'm guessing different tolerances and 3m adhesive possibly but if anyone has any experience I would be grateful.
I have an a22 so can't get a ql case outright. -

This is the connection for a 12v led light. What's the name of this male connector?

Ah, now taken a look and gotcha - good call, thanks
I'd consider the tube / rail option...if it's running or just ignore any red lights...it seems everyone else does...
