  • I think the SKX GMTs are also landing soon

Got an email today: should be delivered for the weekend.

  • I should buy a yacht.

  • And this is £35, so I'd have change for two yachts.

  • But seriously (minute track aside)...

  • They do one with a gradient blue wave dial, it's like a Tissot / Seiko mash up.

  • Can’t get past the 5/S logo on these, it’s a shame.

  • Ha. I want in on that Tudor (Seiko? :o$) market...

  • @DethBeard @Regal Many thanks 👍🏻

@inchpincher Is indeed manual and not used to winding so frequently. Does need a service though.

  • Not loving that

  • So close to pulling the trigger on this, sadly too poor this month

  • ^ Is Seiko mod?

  • Yeah, Monster Watches mod on their site
    I love it's gaudy awfulness.

This was an SNZH60, it served as the basis for a Fifty Fathoms mod with gray dial and a set of nice Seiko hands. The movement has changed, it is now a 4R35 with gold rotor, so you can stop and wind it. I also put sapphire in it, so the chance of scratching your glass is small.

  • Looks great, I'm very interested in one of these. If you get the chance would you mind posting a side on sitting on the wrist kinda shot. Interested to see the thickness and how it sits.

  • Sure, I’ll take a couple of pics tomorrow. It sits flat on the wrist, very low. The case profile is really slim for a Seiko diver. The bezel is relatively tall but the crystal is flat, not domed (actually I think it’s slightly domed but only on the underside), so overall it’s a very good height. You know you’re wearing it - it’s not super light but that’s typical for a Prospex diver.

I would have liked the bracelet to taper a bit more (it’s 20 to 18) and it pulls the occasional arm hair but it’s definitely a wearable option. I’ll be getting the OEM rubber strap from the black dial version for sure.

  • Awesome, thanks. I currently have my samurai on the bracelet so anything is going to feel lighter and slimmer compared to that.

  • I pulled the trigger on this.. not disappointed, need to get bracelet sorted, way too many links..

  • Nice one, Al. Much better than a Helsinki!

And @regal - that Seiko looks A+. Much better than anticipated from renders - as per usual!

  • Very bad jet lag means I’m hiking while the rest of my sisters wedding guests all have lie ins. Pretty, pretty good.

  • Cheers. There are a few things (like always) that you don’t perceive until you have it in hand. The dial has a tiny bit of texture and almost looks fractionally pearlescent in some pics. The blue tint of the AR coating is also quite apparent against the white dial. The bezel click is good too, different and louder to other Seiko divers I’ve had. Also the hands occasionally go quite silver in the light, but the seconds hand stays dark so I think it has a slightly different treatment on it.

Anyway, Friday pics (including some side shots for @TRA)
