I mean, that manivelle with the truss fork is cute, but why go to the stem and not the steerer with the fork legs?

why
...
is cute

• #25179
Is also cute?

I really like what they did with integrating the stem. I can never see myself buying anything like this, but I have to admit it has a unique aesthetic to it.

They may have calculated the reach using the bar manufacturer’s measurements, but then angled the bars and positioned the hoods in a way that extends the reach by 15–20mm. BDHU is real.
-
• #25182
Doesn't bdhu shorten reach? Or is this not the time for facts.
-
• #25183
Yeah. Anti-BDHU lengthens it, which is that riders situation.

Ah, yes! We are actually in agreement.

Hoping to mash some GRX drivetrain parts to this and get out on some gravelly adventures soon.

This is very good. What’s wrong with the current drive train for “gravelly adventures”?
-

My faux 1 by setup isn't super secure on the bumps atm! I like the idea of a smaller front narrow wide ring with the 40t on the rear!

very nice , i like a canti gravel bike aka CX.
chainbounce is a thing, but a bit overrated imo. i rarely engage the clutch on my grx derailleur. obvioulsy depends on the terrain.edit as just seen post above : okay i see, you might want to get a narrow wide chainring and find a grx or rx rear derailleur, they are excellent.

great shout indeed

even the omniums survived.

What's the reasoning behind not having the clutch engaged?
-
• #25192
Fair! Missed that you don’t have two chainrings/derailleur to keep the chain on. Looking forward to seeing the whole thing once you get the drive train sorted.

there is plenty of tension already and it requires greater force to shift with the clutch.
That's my feeling and others will surely refute this statement -
• #25194
works perfectly fine for the commute and long road rides (I did London to Bristol on this setup over Easter), just occasionally knocks down to my unused small ring on the front which is annoying haha

A colleague’s new Grovel bike. He’s done 40 miles of hard pack and he’s Ted King already.

I just did 3 days trail riding with the clutch off but I do have a narrow-wide front ring. I have full outer on the shift cable so it’s already a bit tough on the thumb, plus clutch is noticeable. I’d put it on for more extreme terrain.
-
• #25197
Maybe you need to adjust tension on the clutch and service it if it's too stiff.
-
• #25198
Yeah, might give that a go. The other solution is new frame.
-
• #25199
Full new bike should solve it
