I understand that. I'm no bike fit expert but some of my friends pointed out that the handlebar looks a little too far for comfort

Can always install bars with less reach.

They may have calculated the reach using the bar manufacturer’s measurements, but then angled the bars and positioned the hoods in a way that extends the reach by 15–20mm. BDHU is real.
